Privacy Policy

KDP Studio (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the website at kdpstudio.net and the KDP Studio web application. This policy explains what we collect when you visit our site or use our app, how we use it, and the choices you have.

• Account information: your name, email address, and an encrypted password (or OAuth identifier) when you sign up.
• Books and manuscripts: the book metadata, chapters, manuscripts, covers, and any other content you create, upload, or generate inside the app. We store this on our backend so you can access your work across devices.
• Payment information: billing details required for your subscription. Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not see or store your full card number.
• Your OpenAI API key: stored encrypted and used only to call OpenAI on your behalf so the writer can generate text for you.
• Support correspondence: any messages you send us through the contact form or by email.
• Technical data: IP address, browser, device type, pages viewed, referrer, and similar information collected automatically when you use the site.

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use the site so we can improve the product. Google Analytics sets cookies and may collect your IP address, device and browser information, the pages you view, and how you arrived at our site.

We do not sell your personal information. You can learn more at Google's privacy policy and opt out of Google Analytics using the official opt-out browser add-on or by blocking cookies in your browser.

• Provide, maintain, and improve the service.
• Store your books and manuscripts so you can return to them later.
• Process payments and manage your subscription.
• Send transactional emails (account confirmations, billing receipts, password resets).
• Respond to support requests.
• Detect, prevent, and address abuse, fraud, or security incidents.

We share the minimum data necessary with the following service providers:

• Lovable Cloud — hosting, database, and authentication for the app.
• Stripe — payment processing and subscription billing.
• OpenAI — AI generation. Prompts are sent to OpenAI only when you trigger the writer, authenticated with the API key you supplied.
• Google Analytics — site analytics.
• Transactional email provider — to deliver account and support emails.

When you use the writer, your prompts and any context we send along are transmitted to OpenAI under your own API key and are subject to OpenAI's policies. We do not use your manuscripts, prompts, or outputs to train any AI model.

We keep your account and your manuscripts for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your books and personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain certain information (for example billing records). Routine backups expire on a rolling 30-day window.

You can request to access, export, correct, or delete your data at any time by emailing Contactus@kdpstudio.net.

If you are in the EU, the UK, or California, you may have additional rights under GDPR or the CCPA — including the right to object to processing, request portability, or lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. We do not sell personal information.

We use TLS to encrypt data in transit and rely on our backend provider for encryption at rest. No service can guarantee absolute security; please use a strong, unique password and keep your OpenAI API key safe.

KDP Studio is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU/UK), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Our service providers are primarily based in the United States. By using KDP Studio, you understand that your information may be processed in the U.S. and other countries where our providers operate.

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, notify you by email or inside the app.
